Ironeye the Invincible
Remember Boris from the James Bond movie, Goldeneye? He always said, “I am invincible!” after he did something cool and then he yelled it right at the end of the movie just before a huge barrel of (what else?) liquid nitrogen fell on him and froze him solid. Heh heh, that guy always made me laugh.
Anyway, Ironeye the Invincible is the guy that I was looking for the other day when I ran into Vile Sting. He’s in the Salt Flats as well but over on the east side.
He’s a pretty big dude as you can see. Much larger than the other basks in the area and he’s also dark green in contrast to their white coloring. He’s pretty easy to spot if he’s there. He’s also one seriously tough mother to kill. He’s got roughly 4000 HP and, apparently, somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 armor. I can’t confirm that AC independently, but reports from melee characters all say that he was incredibly difficult to kill. Lucky for me, I’m not melee! Rawr!
And the loot???
Oh yes! That’s what I was going for!
I’ve killed Ironeye about 5 times now (dating back to when my old NE hunter was about level 55) and have gotten the sword twice. According to Wowhead, it only has about a 30% drop rate so I’ve gotten a bit lucky apparently. Excellent tanking sword for the level. It would be difficult to get this as a mid-thirties character, but if you have a high level main and want to try and farm it for an alt then it’s totally doable (although potentially difficult depending on how many people want him).
Ironeye spawns on the east side of the Salt Flats, as I said, and I found him this time at 86,73. He can spawn pretty much anywhere from the Tahonda Ruins (around 79,88) all the way up to the big sunken ship at 82,54 and he’s usually near the wall on the east side. Of course, since he is a rare spawn, he probably won’t be there the first time you head out. If he’s not there, then the easiest thing to do is park a character in that area and camp. Then you can log back on periodically and see if he’s spawned. Lastly, he seems to be on at least a 48-hour timer, so when you do finally kill him, he won’t be back for at least two days. Happy hunting!

In your screen shot there, you have somekind of status bar/timer/metric utility at the top of the screen. I’m curious as to what that is and where I can get it.
Yes. I’m new to WoW
Hey Leohat -
That bar up top is an addon called Titan Panel. You can check it out here – http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/618/
TP comes with several features in the download package – map coords, XP info, durability info and more. There are also several other mods you can get that plug into TP as well. The Curse Gaming page tells you more. The numbers up in the very top left corner are the map coordinates – very handy for finding mobs, spawns and mining/herb nodes.
Welcome to WoW! Hope you enjoy it =)
