Great stuff. I’ve been using your guides to help me out, as I am a WoW n00b myself. They’ve been extremely helpful. (Tho I have experiance on City of Heroes/Villians).
2 notes tho:
1: AC. That stands for Armour Class. It’s a throwback to the “Dungeons and Dragons” tabletop RPG. Originally the armor you wore in the game put you in a certain number “class” that opponents had to try and roll to hit on their dice. Meaning is the same…
2: I don’t know if this is a problem in WoW, but I know it is over in CoX, Alt-itis. Someone who is constantly rolling up new toons to play is said to have alt-itis.
Anyway, your guides have been extremely helpful to me (and my Warlock Orc). Thanks for making them!!

Hey Polecat -
That’s interesting to hear the origin of AC. I think calling it Armor Class would confuse people as they wouldn’t know whether it referred to the type of armor (Cloth, Leather, Mail or Plate) or the amount of armor. I’m gonna stick with Armor Count as that’s what I’ve heard people say in the past, but it’s interesting to know where it came from.
Alt-itis and alt-aholics are definitely a factor in WoW too. I’ve got a short list already to add to the Glossary when I update it next, and I’ll make sure that those two make it in.
Thanks for reading and I’m glad the guides have been helpful =)
A follow up to my earlier post, and something possibly to add to the list. I’ve heard people say it, but what the heck is a “Tier X” item? (The X usually replaced by a number) This has been confusing me since I got started…

Hi again..
I was woundering if you could add another term… and also tell me what its means. What is global cooldown? I hav a WoW guide and it has next to some certain talents, Cooldown: 10 secs/ Global cooldown.
Your probably laughing to yourself, hahah this guy is such a n00b.. well, you hit the nail on the head. I am a noob >.<
lol ty anyway
@Xarcriloth: Sure, I’ll add that one in. Global cooldown, or GCD, is the 1.5 sec cooldown activated by nearly every spell or special attack. For example, if you cast an instant cast spell, let’s say Frost Shock, you’ll notice that you can’t immediately cast anything else - you have to wait for the GCD to wear off. If you use a lot of instant cast spells, then you’ll run into the GCD a good bit. But if most of your spells are 1.5 sec cast time or longer, then it won’t be much of an issue.
And just to mention it, Rogues and Cat-form Druids have a GCD of only 1 sec.
Nice thanks!
LOL - Laughing Out Loud. You may occasionally see a player say this in WoW.
Occasionally!!! lol
I’d love to know what “inc” means. I’ve heard people say it right before tanking some mob or attacking another player.
@Anonymous: Inc means “incoming” as in the mobs are now aggroed and heading towards us.
lol I didnt know half of those.
Man Ive been wondering over tier for awhile now. Thnkx.
What does twink stand for? If anything.
I know what a twink is, but what does is stand for or short for.
