Bagnon – Silly Name, Great Addon
Bagnon is a simple, yet incredibly useful addon that I’ve been using for quite some time now. It is an all-in-one inventory mod that puts your bags together and shows them as one big bag, like this:
I find it quite handy to have all my bags show as one – when I loot something and need to find it, I don’t have to rummage through 4 or 5 different bags, wondering which one it dropped into. All I do is click on any bag, which opens the Bagnon window, and things are much easier to find. Bagnon also puts a colored border around Green, Blue and Purple items that matches their quality level, making it easy to spot the high value items in your bags at a glance. Furthermore, the bags that show in the Bagnon window are configurable, so if you have a bag that normal loot doesn’t drop into (e.g., Soulshard bags, quivers etc.), then you can set it so that bag is not displayed.
Another great aspect of Bagnon is that it allows you to easily keep track of your alts’ inventories as well. When you mouseover an item in your bags (or click an item linked in chat), Bagnon will tell you what alts have that item and how many they have. Like this:
You can see in the screenshot that Beaumont has a total of 43 pieces of wool cloth – 23 in his bags and 20 in his bank. Pretty cool, huh? You can also click on the arrow in the top left part of the Bagnon window and select a character to view his entire inventory.
There are a couple of things that I would like to see added to Bagnon. First, although it does a great job of tracking everything in your inventory and bank, items in your mailbox are not tracked. If would be great if that could be added, because sometimes I forget who I mailed stuff to. Also, it would be handy to be able to see an alt’s complete bank inventory from another character’s screen. Those quibbles aside though, Bagnon is a excellent addon and I’ve been very pleased with it.
