Map Notes
Map Notes is another one of those great addons that is so simple and elegant you wonder why Blizzard hasn’t added it to the game, and it’s definitely on my list of most used mods. Map Notes allows you to pinpoint a specific location on the World Map and mark it with a note. Like this:
Each of the little dots on the map are a note that I’ve added on. Then when you mouseover it, the note pops up to tell you what you’ve marked.
Another excellent point about Map Notes is that the notes stay on the map until you delete them and you can see your notes on all of your characters. Very handy for alts – make as many notes as you need in one zone, and when you level your next character in that zone, the notes are already there.
This addon also works well with the coordinate function in Titan Panel. If you ever go to Wowhead to get help on a quest, then you can mark your exact destination on your map using the coordinate directions. (Map Notes actually has a coordinates function as well, but I’ve never used it. I like the Titan Panel integration with the game map better.)
Map Notes can be found here. As of this writing, it has been updated for the current patch (2.2) and has been bug free for me.
