Patch Tuesday - Fun For All!
On Tuesday Mornings, I try to fill some of the maintenance downtime void in your life by spotlighting some great aspects of the WoW community. Sometimes it’s comedy, sometimes it’s skilled gameplay, sometimes it’s just plain silly. If you know of something out there that deserves a mention, be sure to let me know.
First off, if you aren’t aware yet, Patch 2.3 is being released today. Head here to read the Patch Notes and see what changes are coming our way. I think I’m looking forward to the leveling improvements the most. That will definitely help my druid and pally and any other alts that come along later.
I’m also looking forward to doing the new level 30 to 40 quests in Mudsprocket. I just hit 30 on my druid, so I could just head right over there, but I’m thinking I might like to save those quests for when Egwene and I hit 30. That way we’d have something new (for both of us) to do together. We’ll see.
On to the entertainment!
We’re gonna start things off with a wee bit o’ /dancing! Ever wondered where the different races got their moves?
The male dwarf dance actually originates from a traditional Russian (I think?) dance that I couldn’t find the name of. I assume that Travolta styled that part of his dance from it. Additionally, the male troll dance is inspired by capoeira, “an Afro-Brazilian martial art, game, and culture created by enslaved Africans in Brazil during the 17th Century.” Human females dance the Macarena (I almost hurt myself laughing the first time I saw that), and the Draenei females’ dance was inspired by Shakira.
Our next movie is just silly. It involves some pirates about to set off on a journey to conquer their foe, but first they need to get some singing out of their system… (It starts off a bit slow, but it was cracking me up by the end :))
And our last video is another Weird Al song that has been put into a WoW music video. Please don’t drink and drive (your ram).

I did not know that about the dancing. Nice!
Just so you know, the 2nd vid there about the pirates, the audio is from Monkey Island 2, by LucasArts. One of the classic comedy point & click adventures from back in the day (Yeah, I’m probably showing my age that I know this.
)

Ahh, OK… I remember Monkey Island 2 coming out and hearing good things about it years ago. I never did get around to playing it, but good to know where it’s from
