Where Can I Go To Level? Alliance 20s
One of the most common questions asked in WoW is some variation of “I’m level xx… where else can I go to quest?” Having leveled numerous characters through Azeroth, I know it’s definitely frustrating to be stuck at level 28 or 29, so close to being able to go to the next tier of zones, and not knowing where you can go to keep questing.
To help you in your travels, I’m going to provide you with a comprehensive guide to each and every zone in Azeroth, so you can always know where else you can safely go.
Edit: In looking back through these first three parts, I’ve decided to add one more thing to my summary of each zone: the ACSZR (Adrenis’ Completely Subjective Zone Rating). The ACSZR is based on my leveling experience in that zone, how much I enjoy it, the availability of quests, and whether or not I recommend that you go there to level. I’m also going to look at the zone from the perspective of the faction that I’m writing for, so the zone may have a different rating for Horde and Alliance. The ratings are:
1 - Stay Away From This Zone At All Costs
2 - Go There Only If You Must
3 - It’s OK But Not Great
4 - Solidly Good Zone
5 - Definitely Go Here, You’ll Love It!
———————————-
Alliance 20 to 30
Redridge Mountains - Redridge can be accessed from Elwynn Forest to the west, or from Duskwood to the south.
Quest Hubs - Lakeshire
Flight Points - Lakeshire
Quest Levels - 15 to 25. By the time you hit 20, you’ll be above most of the quests in Redridge, but there’s still a handful you can do.
ACSZR - 3. Redridge is a decent zone, but there aren’t enough quests here to rank it any higher.
———————————-
Ashenvale - For Alliance, Ashenvale is most easily accessed from Darkshore to the north.
Quest Hubs - Astranaar and Forest Song.
Flight Points - Astranaar and Forest Song.
Quest Levels - 20 to 30.
ACSZR - 5. An excellent 20 to 30 zone. Tons of quests and I love the ancient forest look that it has. Plus, you get to turn yourself into a furbolg!
———————————-
Wetlands - The Wetlands can be accessed via boat, from Darkshore and Theramore Isle, or from Loch Modan to the south.
Quest Hubs - Menethil Harbor and Whelgar’s Excavation Site
Flight Points - Menethil Harbor
Quest Levels - 20 to 30.
ACSZR - 5. Another great Alliance 20 to 30 zone. You will kill one or two raptors.
———————————-
Duskwood - Duskwood can be accessed from Westfall to the west, or from Redridge Mountains to the north.
Quest Hubs - Darkshire
Flight Points - Darkshire
Quest Levels - 20 to 30.
ACSZR - 5. Excellent (and spooky) zone. Also, I think the people of Duskwood need to invest in an urban renewal campaign. Seriously, they have worgen and skeletons walking around a few hundred yards from their front door. And they don’t seem to be too concerned.
———————————-
Stonetalon Mountains - Stonetalon can be accessed from Ashenvale via the Talondeep Path.
Quest Hubs - Stonetalon Peak and a gnome in the middle of nowhere.
Flight Points - Stonetalon Peak
Quest Levels - 20 to 30. Stonetalon is more of a Horde zone than Alliance, but there are still a few quests to do here for Allies. When I leveled my Alliance characters, I usually got everything I needed from Duskwood, Wetlands and Ashenvale, but keep Stonetalon in mind if you’re looking for something new.
ACSZR - 2. Stonetalon is not a bad zone, but I don’t think there are enough quests to justify coming over here unless you need to.

Check back tomorrow and I’ll have a guide to the dungeons you can do in your 20s.
