It’s been just over one week since I transferred McG over to Shandris and I have to say that I’m surprised at how quickly I’ve been able to get weapons and armor. This is me now:

That’s right, baby! No more naked dwarf! Your sigh of relief has been noted. And it hurts my feelings.

But let’s pick up where we left off, shall we?

After getting some basic weapons and a couple pieces of gear, I was able to go to WPL and Winterspring and get some quests done. It wasn’t terribly enjoyable, but I did at least manage to get a little bit of cash. Before too long though, I was itching to get back to the Outlands and start making some real money.

My hearthstone was still set to Shattrath, so I ported back there and then flew to Honor Hold in HFP. I wasn’t sure how well I was going to be able to handle the Outland mobs, but my general plan was to try and find any quests that I hadn’t completed my first time through, and work on them. I was able to find a surprising number in HFP that I had not done yet, and was able to work my way through them carefully. I found I was able to handle two 60-62 mobs at a time, but three was still a bit much.

I was a bit nervous about partying up to work on the group quests with other people. Warriors are nearly always expected to tank, and tanking is totally dependent on gear. The first time I grouped with anyone was to finish Colossal Menace in HFP. At that point I was still pretty much naked, and I was just waiting for someone in the group to /w me and say ‘wtf? what are you doing?’. Everything went pretty smoothly though, and no one questioned my manhood. Well, at least no more than normal.

I was able to progress through HFP and Zangarmarsh fairly quickly, and now I’m working on the last few quests in Terokkar Forest. After that I’ve got just a couple left in Nagrand, and then I’ll be able to go on to Blade’s Edge Mountains, which is were I left of when I took my WoW break.

Overall I’m very pleased with now quickly I’ve been able to get back to to speed. I’m not 100% of where I need to be gear-wise, but I’m probably around 85%. Being able to buy my two initial weapons with Honor helped me out a tremendous amount. I think it would have been a much longer grind back to the Outlands if I’d been forced to use nothing but my fists until I could afford to buy a weapon.

I’m also pleased with how quickly I’ve been able to make Gold. I’ve got just under 200G at the moment, and that’s even after powerleveling Cooking to 300. (I farmed some of what I needed, but if something was in the AH for a reasonable price, I bought it.) At this rate I’ll be able to buy my flying mount not too long after I hit 70. (I’ve got the money on Adrenis already, but I don’t want to pay a 15% tax to get it to McG via the neutral AH.)

All in all, that gives me 7784 HP and 5303 AC (35.53% damage mitigation). Not too shabby for just a few days work!
