Adrenis the Explorer!

Woot! =D

I got this done a couple of days ago, just as soon as I hit 77. I ding’ed in Grizzly Hills, went to Dalaran and got Epic and Cold Weather Flying, and then headed to Outland to pick up an epic flyer mount. I had about half of Outland explored, so it didn’t take too long to get the rest of it done. I think I needed Netherstorm, SMV, and a couple of spot in HFP and BEM.

Once I was done there, I went back to Northrend and started crossing those zones off the list. Getting Northrend completely done took a good while. I had fully explored the three zones I had completed already – Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra and Dragonblight – but that was pretty much it.

I did the rest of Northrend in a big circle – Grizzly Hills, Zul’Drak, Storm Peaks, Icecrown, Sholazar, and then back to Crystalsong to wrap it all up.

Besides the title, I also got a letter from Brann Bronzebeard, congratulating me on my travels, and the epic Tabard of the Explorer. Pretty nifty ^_^ Those two things are actually tied to the Explore Northrend Achivement, so you can get them more easily if you just want them and not the Explorer title. Here’s the tabard below.

Getting the Explorer Title

Here are some thoughts on getting all of the exploring Achivements done. If you are level 80, and have epic Flying, then just go nuts. You could easily knock them all out in one evening.

If you don’t have epic flying yet, but are close, then I would recommend that you go ahead and grind out that last bit of gold to purchase it, because there is a lot of flying involved and the extra speed helps out tremendously. You can complete it all with a normal flyer, but it’s going to take much longer.

If you are still leveling in WoW, I suggest that you explore each zone you quest in as much as possible. Especially in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms – you can explore these completely without requiring a flying mount, unlike Outland and Northrend, and being able to cross them off the list as you quest is very, very nice. Plus it saves you from having to make the trip back later just to get one or two areas.

The earliest you could get the title is level 70, from what I’ve heard. You have to have at least the non-epic flyer to explore all of Outland, but you do not have to be able to fly in order to explore all of Northrend, so Cold Weather flying is not essential. If you’re interested in exploring Northrend without being able to fly, Wowhead has some great comments under the different Explore -Zone- Achivements telling how it has been done in the past. Just be prepared for a long, difficult grind. It’s much easier at 77 with epic flying.

  1. Of course, the best part was Adrenis freaking out at how much faster his epic flier was in guild chat ^^

    Grats on the title!

  2. @Jirina: LOL! Yeah, that was the first epic flyer I’d ever bought. It is just amazing how much faster it is. Definitely worth the gold.

  3. I acquire myself spending more and more time here lately.  Thanks for your blog.   =)

  4. My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on numerous websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be really appreciated!
